The benefits of coconut oil are numerous, thanks to its exceptionally rich composition in fatty acids, vitamins and phytosterols.
Themonounsaturated fatty acids (omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 - it contains between 5 and 8% oleic acids) are of particularinterest fortheir anti-inflammatory properties, which nourish, moisturize and soften the skin.
Coconut oil is also a source of vitamins, notably Vitamin E, recognized for its antioxidant and protective properties, and Vitamin A, which promotes skin hydration.
Finally, the dermatological benefits of coconut oil are linked to its phytosterol content, which soothes, repairs and deeply nourishes the skin. Skin is regenerated, soothed, softened and more supple.
Because of its composition, using coconut oil has many advantages for horses: it is extremely nourishing, moisturizing damaged or shredded manes and tails. In the event of irritation or cracks, it will help moisturize and regenerate the epidermis. It can even be applied to hooves for dry, brittle horn.
