Hoof filler
After cleaning the hoof and scraping the gap between the shoe and the hoof, soak the hoof putty for 3 to 5 minutes in water heated to around 70° to obtain a soft substance similar to chewing gum (if the water is too hot, the ZR hoof putty will become sticky). Shape this substance well. One tablet (150g) of ZR hoof filler is required for each hoof.
The softened substance is applied (with dampened or greased hands) to the sole of the hoof, under the shoe, particularly under the shoe sponges. For optimum hold of the hoof sealant, it is important that the shoe is well bevelled. Once the application has been made, the horse should be left undisturbed for about 20 minutes to allow the ZR hoof sealant to cool. The ZR hoof filler can be reapplied as required.
