The olive lifter bit is a single-lip bit offering a simple contact. It allows you to relax your horse's mouth by transmitting your aids more gently. Unlike the double curb bit, which acts on the tongue, the single curb bit acts on the palate. It's important to remember that a horse's palate is a sensitive area that must not be neglected. It can be recommended for horses that are relatively easy in the mouth, not very sensitive on the palate or with a hollow palate. Resin provides a more pleasant, relaxing contact. Particularly in winter, when stainless steel bits produce a cold effect that is not very pleasant in the mouth, resin bits are not and play a more important role in relaxation. A special feature of the lift bit is the use of special uprights which pass through two rings perpendicular to the bit rings. This feature allows it to be used with two or four reins, or with wedding rings. The snaffle reins will then have a traditional lifting effect, and the reins attached to the special uprights, a lowering effect. It helps to improve the horse's balance by bringing the tip of the horse's nose closer to the rider. Here, the lifter is combined with an olive bit, i.e. it has oval-shaped rings. The rings rotate on a single axis, thus avoiding any pinching of the corners of the mouth. Resin: Happy Mouth offers a non-toxic polyurethane resin, which gives the horse a prolonged apple taste to help accept the bit. Resin bits remain at room temperature. They offer a soft contact but are less tender and thick than a rubber bit. The apple taste encourages chewing. Caution: This material is vulnerable, and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear due to biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
