What is meadowsweet?

Meadowsweet (filipendula ulmaria) is an abundant plant in marshy meadows and along watercourses. The part used is the flowering top.

Why and how does it work?

Its beneficial action is based on the presence of flavonoids and salicyclic derivatives (precursors of aspirin).

Meadowsweet helps dilate blood vessels, tones theheart andaccelerates diuresis.

These effects are exerted gently and progressively, and are perfectly well tolerated.
