ESC Laboratoire Diatomaceous Earth - External and internal parasites in horses
Diatomaceous earth, a 100% natural product traditionally used against animal parasites:
Diatomaceous earth, extracted from natural quarries, contains the fossilized remains of marine micro-algae whose characteristic composition is very rich in silica. This composition gives it a number of unique properties. Indeed, the structure of the silica contained in diatomaceous earth is comparable to microscopic crystals that act by desiccating parasites.
Diatomaceous earth's high silica content also gives it a powerful mineral charge, helping to keep coats, manes and hooves healthy.
Diatomaceous earth is traditionally used externally to combat external parasites such as fleas, lice, ticks and mites. Some people also recommend it for internal use.
Our diatomaceous earth is uncalcined and food-grade.
It is a specific food that contributes to nutritional balance, complementing the basic ration.
